GREAT WORKOUT!!!

I loved this workout!!! Steve is an excellent instructor. I used a 5lb medicine ball, I think they were using a 2lb ball. I recommend this workout!

tough workout!!!

I loved this workout! I think i would rate it between intermediate and advanced. I think Steve used a 2lb medicine ball, I used a 5lb and boy was it tough!! Great change to my workouts!

Love it!

This is a great workout. Steve is motivating and energizing without being over the top. I like the variety the medicine ball brings and its a tough workout. I have a 6lb ball and am looking to move up to 8lb. There aren't recommendations for what weight to use. If you don't have a ball, look for one thats textured. Once you start sweating (and you will) the ball can get a bit slick. I would say I am intermediate to advanced level. You've know you've done it. I agree with other reviewers, not a long warm up-but you know exactly how long you are working out.
I love this workout and am looking forward to trying other Steve Marasca workouts.
Personally I'd rather buy a DVD than download. Still can't get my DVD player to play the CD I used. Any tips??

worth the time

tough, challenging workout, that packs each minute with aerobic exercise and great muscle toning. Jake is very upbeat and engaging, and although his language can be repetitive, I like that fact that he continues to do the workout with you, rather than just teach it. It is a good solid workout that will be a regular in my rotating workouts. If you have knee issues, you may find some of the moves more difficult, since the workout has a lot of squats in it. To increase the intensity, you can increase the weight of your medicine ball or hand weight.

He's terrific

I really like the way Steve works: his cueing, his emphasis on staying focused and maintaining
proper form give me confidence in the workout. It's a steady, strong and challenging workout.
I'm so glad I downloaded it for my personal use. Keep it coming, Steve!

Love To Train!

Steve is very motivating and makes you want to do this exercise program - not in a bossy way but in a supportive way. This workout is very fun thanks to Steve mixing it up and incorporating innovative ideas that I don't see in a lot of other workouts. It is a very challenging workout but there is someone on set that demonstrates alternate moves if you find the other ones too difficult. I like to do this workout over and over.

The Next Level

This is an excellent workout for those with a mid to high fitness level. Maresca is an excellent motivator, and I find him very personable. I do NOT recommend this workout to beginners. Practice form, and increase endurance, with something a little less challenging first (Jillian Michael's 30 day shred level 1 is a great workout for those starting out).

Intermediate-almost Advanced. You may have to do some modifications if you're just reaching the Intermediate level. You'll sweat, be out of breath and have muscle burn. Great cuing and modifications given if you can't jump or the move needs more muscle than you have...yet :) Steve has an awesome attitude!

Yep, it's extreeeeem

This was a great workout. I have recently finished P90X, and this is similar to Plyometrics. Very intense. I would suggest doing a quick 5 min warm up on your own because he just jumps right in. I like that because he uses the entire 45 min to work you! To be on the safe side, plan a warm-up and cool down.

Good luck. I didn't make it through my first try.

Simply great.

I love Steve's style and honesty. I like that his back-up instructors get tired with this workout. I can't do the whole thing now, but I can see myself getting closer to staying with them every time I try. Dear reader, I am 46 years old -- don't talk yourself out of this workout! You can do it and it will reward you.

Amazing workout! I love Steve's enthusiasm and encouragement! Great video and you can grade up - I don't have a medicine ball, so I started with a 5 # hand weight, and today tried an 8 # - much harder and I almost couldn't finish! Well done - and thanks!!!

Invigorating

This work out was so much fun. When I first tried it, I was challenged, and breathless. I followed the modified version at first. The 2nd time the same, the 3rd time I could actually feel improvement, the 4th time I followed the trainer (Steve), by the 5th time, I felt I could get through this work out with better form, breathing easier, and could actually push myself to work at the level of the Trainer. I love this workout, it is fun, challenging, and exhilarating. I have been working out for 21 years, and Steve's Body by Jake workouts, keep me in shape, help my cardio, and keep the weight off. You will burn calories like crazy using these workouts! I too used a 5lb weight, as I do not have a medicine ball.

fired up!

Steve's attitude is so over-the-top...but in a good way! This workout combines simple moves but the reps and the added weight really make you sweat. I used a 5 lb dumbell for most of it, but had to switch to a 2.5 lb weight for a portion of it. I love being challenged, and this was the ticket!

you will sweat!

I wonder how many calories I burned! The sweat came early and kept pouring throughout the workout. Steve does a great job setting up each exercise.
I really enjoyed this workout and Steve's enthusiasm.
